I absolutely, positively love teaching kindergarten! There is nothing better than the smiling faces of twenty-two five-year-olds that are excited and enthusiastic to learn and make friends. I love it.

Friends Only

All love that has not friendship for its base is like a mansion built upon sand.

I ushered in my 19th year beautifully, with beautiful people, too much candy to name, an interesting looking cake, and plenty of thoughtful surprises--who would have thought my boyfriend would deliver my best friend for an entire weekend? I am a lucky, lucky, thankful girl.

CONGRATULATIONS, BHS CLASS OF 2005! Much luck & love to all!

*...Somebody, somebody. Can anybody find me somebody to love?...*

Kids Amaze Me. (PICTURES!)Collapse )

PS: Note to self & others: do not speak of elephants. It will only get you into trouble!

*...And if you say this makes you happy, then I'm not the only one lying...*

The most gorgeous day this season. I have a crush on a boy; I will ask him to prom. Right?

Ha.
Today I was sitting on a bench outside work reading, and an old man walked by and told me, "That bench looks a lot better with you sitting on it." I also received a 26 cent sweater from a learning disabled senior citizen who asked me if I would like to have children with him "when we get married."

I Gave In. * 03.17.2005

*...Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. There's nothing you can do that can't be done...*

If you read this, even if I don't speak to you often, post a memory of me. It can be anything you want, it can be good or bad, just so long as it happened. Then post this to your journal. See what people remember about you.

Am I complete and total dork for thinking this is a cute idea? Yes. I'd love for everyone to post something; it would make me smile! :)

Missing Plates, Anyone? * 03.03.05

*...Yours is the first face that I saw. Think I was blind before I met you. I don't know where I am, don't know where I've been, but I know where I want to go...*

When a college sends you a rejection letter, it should say, "YOU ARE REJECTED." It should not ramble on and on about how "pleased we are to have received you application." Because the words "we do not want you" stumble through your veins regardless of the wording. Short and sweet, please. Short and bitter.

He smells like too much cologne and too much love and too much beauty. And on the way home from dinner, we saw a woman with a license plate in her purse, and we laughed and laughed and it felt so damn good to laugh, to just laugh and flash a still photograph of a woman with a license plate in her purse and to wonder who is she and where is she going and why is there a damn license plate in her purse? & not wonder what someone was thinking of me or if I was perfect or special or normal. Because he hugs me in this way, and although he cannot say it, his eyes are tender and loving and pure. And that is enough for me.

I do not think I will be going to prom.

*...Don't leave false illusions behind; don't cry cause I ain't changing my mind. So find another fool like before, cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving...*

I have begun making conscious, positive decisions that will change my life for the better in the long run. For the first time in years, I feel incredibly proud of myself: the words "This isn't the healthiest thing for me right now" exited my mouth and relief almost immediately took the place of confusion.

Changes are coming, and my head is held high. I feel focused and determined: I know what I want, I am ready to do something about it, and I am confident that--regardless of the outcome--I will be okay.

I received what is quite possibly the best advice anyone has ever given to me last evening:

kwwoq2363: I am a doormat.
cromaGnetic2: Don't be the door mat..be the door, you don't always have to let people walk all over you. Instead you can shut them out and not let them in.

. . . And just like that, I am empowered.
